The plans for my new front planting area include an environment pleasing to butterflies and bees. Now that the warm weather has come, the bees already living there woke up. Yellow jackets!!!!!!!!! I am so fortunate I was not stung as I cut and trimmed the bushes. Life is funny……

Spring, at long last, has arrived

This beautiful Tulip is called Rainbow Warrior. After days, nay weeks of grey cold days this sight yelled “spring is really here”.
How Pink is Redbud pink? Very pink! I feel a rush of happy whenever I see one.
The landscape does look like a fairyland with the redbud, dogwood and cherry trees dressed in flowers. The azaleas, Virginia Bluebells and Phlox (Locals here call it Thrift.) are doing their part to brighten the scene.

I am grateful for the color, for the beauty and the surprise of finding stray flowers on the grass.

Contemplation on looking within

Could that be right? To become silent? Seems like the opposite of what I was taught. The practice of looking within to the place beyond the noise and chaos has helped me to substitute response for reaction and contemplation for blame. Anger is still a dance I don’t understand. I have heard it said that anger is a useful and healthy reaction to some situations. Anger frightens me. I have a history of throwing things and punching walls, anger and I are acquainted! I have felt the volcanic eruptions and now look for the release value before “it” blows. Still finding my way to making friends with anger.

I struggle to find my voice and use my words but it is getting easier to trust my innermost voice. In this way, aging is a true blessing- the mellowness that comes with having been around the block a few times.
