September Morning

Yes, It was last week’s challenge but I did take the pictures then so it qualifies. As I worked at this photo challenge, I was able to confirm a scientific face- the sun does rise in a different spot or the earth rotates as it were. The reason it took me so long to post is I was looking for the picture I took in May of this year. The shadow are different now. This little squirrel was sure I was taking pictures of him, he finally sat sit and posed so what else could I do. Thanks Jakeprinter- to see his morning, just click.

May Morning

When we bring a lamp into a darkened room, where does the darkness go?  I can’t be the only one that wonders these things. When we change our thoughts from darkness, sadness or hopelessness to thoughts of possibility and love, the darkness disappears, just as it does in a room when the light is turned on.  I always try to move toward the light of love.

Ralph Waldo Emerson said “The measure of mental health is the disposition to find good everywhere.”  In my youth, when I would complain to my Father about the state of the world (hunger) or state of the government (Vietnam) or society (treatment of woman.) He would listen, then say “Now, you have told me what you don’t like. Now tell me what you do like. Now tell me what thoughts you have to cause a change.” As you might guess, I found it quite infuriating but it did lead me to a way of puzzling through conflicts in a new way.
